Designed for high temperature or heavy-duty applications (such as towing, etc.). Replaces virtually any cut flanges, manufacturing reliable “formed-in-place” flanges that resist cracking, shrinkage and migration caused by thermal cycling. Coat pre-cut flanges to increase reliability.
Instructions
- For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent such as Permatex® Brake & Parts Cleaner.
- Cut the nozzle to the desired bead size. Flanges are best formed using a 1/16″ to 1/4″ bead.
- Apply a continuous, even bead of silicone bead on a surface around all bolt holes. Assemble the fittings immediately while the silicone is still wet. Finger tighten until the material begins to compress around the flange. Allow to dry for one hour and then retighten 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
- The silicone peels in one hour and fully cures in 24 hours under normal conditions. Allow more time for cold or very dry conditions.
- Clean uncured silicone from hands, tools and clothing with Fast Orange® hand cleaner.
NOTE: Not recommended for use on head gaskets or components that come in contact with gasoline.
