Description
This specially formulated ultra-fine polishing compound is designed to achieve a flawless finish on new scratch-resistant automotive clear coats. It is also used to deliver a high gloss on repainted surfaces after the initial polishing stages.
The product is applied with a rotary polisher operating at 1500–2500 RPM, using the appropriate foam or wool pad. Typically, it is used with the yellow foam pad 50488 following the first polishing stage (compound 50417 combined with the green foam pad).
For scratch-resistant clear coats, the final sanding stage should be performed with 3M™ Trizact™ P3000 abrasive. To remove sanding marks left by P3000 on hard scratch-resistant paints, use the 3M™ 1927 wool pad for enhanced cutting power.
Any remaining polishing marks from this process are removed by applying the Extra Fine Compound 80347 with the 3M™ orange foam pad 09550, resulting in a perfectly smooth, high-gloss finish.
